Time for a Treat

For this week's Unscripted Sketches challenge #73 we had a sketch plus a piggyback challenge to work with. Our piggyback challenge was to create something monochromatic with accents only of white/black. So I created this cute little treat box. I used Papertrey Ink's Favor It #1 die for the box. I die cut the box out of Ripe Avocado cardstock. The matching mat I die cut using PTI's Mat Stack die and Spring Moss bitty dot designer paper. Then using nesties I cut the black mat and out of yummy PTI wool felt I die cut the flowers (PTI beautiful blooms dies) and hand cut the leaves. Using a ruler and a black fine tipped sharpie I drew the lines and then placed a line of scortape in between the lines and glittered it up.

Forgive my lateness in posting my creation for the challenge. In the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday, while we were upstairs sleeping, our home was broken in to. They stole my husband's wallet and 2 laptops. One of those laptops was mine and it had all of my photos for this week's challenge on it. To add insult to injury, we were in the process of being packed up for a move and the packers packed my camera battery charger in a box in a crate before they even packed up the rest of my craft room. When I went to turn my camera on for photos the battery was DEAD. However, thanks to a good samaritan at our local electronics store (military PX) I was able to bring my battery in and charge it in the store. So VOILA, now I can take photos and get my post ready... A lot of work and photos were lost with the stolen laptops, prayers for peace of mind are appreciated.

Now get out there and try this challenge for yourself. It is fun to stretch my mind with challenges like this and I hope you enjoy it too. Let me know what you think and if you decide to play along.

Angy, great job on your boxes--they are adorable! Love how the white really pops out. I am so glad you at least got your camera charged and working. I have been thinking of you since the break-in and hoping things are more settled. Such an awful and terrifying thing to happen. Take care and hugs!

Very cute! I was so sorry to hear what happened. I can understand you being upset about your laptop. I would be too. At least no one was hurt though. I am glad to hear you were able to find your camera battery and got it working too. Hope things get better for you soon!
