Unscripted Sketches #83 - Birthday calendar binder

For this week's Unscripted Sketches I decided to make a Birthday Calendar binder. I used the sketch for the layout of the outside of the binder. I have been out of commission the last few weeks due to finally moving into our home and unpacking. I was also quite sick but am feeling better now. Anyway, I am making these binders as Christmas presents for the ladies in our family (hope none of them are peeking right now). I don't have any photos of the interiors yet but here is where I got the idea, supplies, etc
Nichole Heady's blog. You need to scroll down just a bit to see the actual binder pages. I ran out of time or I would have taken photos of the interior as well. I may edit this post later to add them.

Hard to see in the photo but I used PTI's Embellishments stamp set with Versamark on the Pure Poppy cardstock. IRL it looks pretty nice. I altered the sketch just a bit - instead of having my 3 circles below the base layer I pushed them up a bit. I used a Mat Stack # 4 as my center piece and stamped it with the images from PTI Calendar Basics. I also used PTI's Just the Ticket die for the Smokey Shadow side panel and stamped the interior with an image from the Embellishments sets.

This binder is pretty easy to put together once you get started. Now I have the hard work of making cards to put inside it. My plan is to do at least one card per month. Hopefully, I won't run out of time. I do need to get them wrapped and in the mail. Living in Germany has its perks but needing to get packages mailed early for Christmas is not one of them.

Enjoy the sketch and be sure to let me know if played along.

Unscripted Sketches #80 and a Birthday card.

I used this week's Unscripted Sketch as the inspiration for my husband's birthday card. I think it turned out pretty good.

For the base of the card I used PTI Kraft cardstock and then used the new Distressed Dots and Turning a New Leaf designer papers for my 2 layers. Ripe Avocado cardstock was used with PTI's new Limitless Layers die to create the sunburst layer. The sentiment is from PTI Fillable Frames and the dragonfly is from Masculine Motifs. I added Rustic wood buttons tied with baker's twine as my embellishments. Except for my background text stamping - all products are from Papertrey Ink. The background text, however, is a new set from Waltzingmouse. Love it - it is called Text It! Amazing set with 5 fabulous fonts. The text is also long enough to go from end to end horizontally on a card without having to match up the ends. So easy peasy to get it lined up and on the cardstock.

Enjoy!
