Unscripted 86 & a piggyback

Time for another sketch challenge. This one comes with a piggyback challenge. A piggyback challenge is an extra task you can add to the sketch. This time our piggyback challenge was to create the sketch without using patterned paper. Oh no! Say it isn't SO! I love my patterned paper. It is almost an addiction. But I did the best I could and created these 2 little cards. Both were ideas I had been kicking around for quite some time. So this was a good time to go for it.

This card uses my PTI Star Prints set and a star punch. Quick and easy and makes for a nice bright card suitable for either a girl or a boy.

For this card I decided to use my PTI butterfly dies. One die is from Dawn McVey's signature series and the other is the die that matches Butterfly Dreams. These 2 butterflies layer quite nicely. The other thing I wanted to do was try my hand at creating some paper like Dawn's Sweet Symphony. (scroll down a teeny bit to see it) Now this is a perfect time for me to do this since the piggyback challenge was to NOT use patterned paper.

The sentiment I used was also from Dawn McVey's Signature Series:Dress Form. (Got to love that gal's creative juices - they flow and inspire me)

I really love how this turned out. I took WM's Sheet Music set and stamped it in PTI's Vintage Tea Dye Chai and then I took Memento Ink and stamped polka dots from PTI's Polka Dot Basics II over the top. LOVE, LOVE, love how this looks! Next I am going to try stamping the music over the top of some of my polka dot paper (but again no patterned paper for this particular challenge) but I will be sure to share here once I do.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Love both designs! You made such a great job with that paper! It even has a much softer and sweeter look than the printed one!

This is such a cool sketch, so many possibilities for things to use in place of the squares. I love both of your designs, they're so clean and simple!

Ha! Y'see now I tend to run a mile from DP (I just collect it to stroke and hoard it!)
Love your CAS take on the sketch - especially your stars!

Very sweet! I like the butterflies, I felt like a breath of spring just flew through the room.

I think you managed VERY WELL with no patterned paper here Angy!! The stars are my favourite - they look like a party happening all by themselves! :0)

Merry Christmas to you and your family! I hope that you have a wonderful time in your new home and I wish you every joy and blessing in the New Year! {{HUGS}}
